IFC Advisory Services (through IFC-SEDF) has been limited due to the conflict. Focus has been on delivering SME Toolkit Project and assistance to the draft legislation on economic zones.
IFC-SEDF have fielded several missions in 2007 on bank diagnostics with a view to further the services in risk management, micro-finance development, SME banking product development and support to the credit bureau.
Mission by IFC (IFC-SEDF and FIAS) in late 2006 and early 2007, have identified areas for further advisory services work on the Investment Climate.
Progress on restoration of democracy and elections opens up opportunities of an expanded advisory service engagement. Plan to expand work on:
- Access to Finance
- Business Enabling Environment / Investment Climate Assessments
- Sector Strategies and Value Chains (esp. agribusiness)
