The IFC-organized workshop on knowledge sharing in microfinance, which was held in Dubai on 12-13 December 2007, was launched in response to several requests from IFC's clients in the MENA and Asia regions to better leverage the corporation's network and share clients’ experiences.
During the workshop, IFC shared experiences of its MENA microfinance clients focusing on specific operational challenges, including risk management, human resources, product development, expansion and transformation into regulated financial institutions. The workshop’s dynamic participatory sessions included case studies from the Asia and the MENA regions, panel discussions and debates showcasing a variety of approaches and perspectives.
