IFC PEP Africa is a multi-donor funded initiative, leveraging IFC and partner resources to support private sector development in Africa. Partners include governments, regional development institutions such as the African Development Bank, and private companies.
IFC funding covers program management costs, including staff salaries, and operating costs associated with program delivery. Other development partners – governments, multilateral agencies, and private companies – provide the funding to cover the direct program implementation costs. This arrangement allows donors the flexibility to fund specific programs and sectors. It also enables donor partners to leverage IFC PEP Africa’s on-the-ground implementation resources and expertise to maximize development impact, while eliminating the need for parallel implementation structures.
Since 2005, IFC and its donor partners have provided more than $130 million in program support towards IFC PEP Africa activities.
