FARIDA KHAMBATA
Vice President, Asia, Latin America, Global Manufacturing

Farida Khambata heads IFC’s operations in Asia and Latin America, as well as our operations under the Global Manufacturing cluster. She is responsible for IFC's strategy, financial products, and advisory services in member countries in these regions and sectors. Prior to that she was Vice President, East Asia and the Pacific, South Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, and the Middle East and North Africa. Previously, she served as Vice President for Portfolio and Risk Management, with responsibility for IFC’s portfolio (about $14 billion) and risk management operations, as well as for the information technology, controller’s, budgeting, trust funds, and back-office functions.

Prior to be being named Vice President, Mrs. Khambata was Director of IFC’s Treasury Department. She also held positions as Director, Division Manager, and Senior Investment Officer at IFC’s former Central Capital Markets Department. Mrs. Khambata transferred from the World Bank to IFC in 1986. She joined the World Bank as a Young Professional, working later as a Senior Pension Officer for the World Bank Group’s Pension Fund, and as a Senior Investment Officer in the East Asia and Pacific Region.

Mrs. Khambata holds graduate degrees in Economics and Business Management from Cambridge University and the London Business School. A Certified Financial Analyst, she has also participated in the Executive Development Program at Wharton Business School.
