LADISLAUS VON HOFFMANN

Executive Vice President, IFC
1974-1977

Ladislaus von Hoffmann served as IFC’s Executive Vice President from 1974 to 1977. He came to IFC in 1960 as an investment officer and was appointed vice president in 1970. During his tenure as EVP, Mr. von Hoffmann initiated the successful renegotiation of the first general capital increase, which boosted resources to $650 million and significantly added to the Corporation’s ability to finance private enterprise in developing countries.

“When I look back over my life,” he told IFC’s Catalyst, “I’m glad I joined IFC.”

Mr. von Hoffmann is President of Omicron Investments and serves on several Boards, including the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton, New Jersey, and the Pierpont Morgan Library in New York. He is founder and chairman of the Arcana Foundation, Inc., a private foundation that supports charitable, educational, and cultural endeavors.
